About this site

An independent directory — nothing more, nothing sold

Heal Gaming UK exists for one reason: to make it faster and easier to find real, free, UK gambling-harm support — without wading through pages of casino affiliate marketing to get there.

What we are

A free, independent information directory. We research and list official UK organisations — helplines, self-exclusion schemes, NHS and residential treatment, peer support groups, and debt advice charities — and keep the details checked against each organisation's own website.

What we are not

  • We are not a registered charity, a crisis service, or a treatment provider ourselves.
  • We do not give medical, clinical or financial advice — we point you to the free services that do.
  • We are not affiliated with, and do not accept payment from, any gambling operator — licensed or unlicensed.
  • We will never list, link to, or promote a betting or casino site, including any site marketed as accepting players excluded via GamStop.

If you are in immediate danger or thinking about suicide, please call 999, or Samaritans free on 116 123, any time.

How we choose and check listings

Every service on this site meets three bars: it's an official, verifiable UK organisation (not a third-party aggregator or blog); it's free, or free at the point of access, wherever possible; and its details — phone numbers, hours, how to self-refer — are checked directly against that organisation's own primary website, not against secondary directories, where possible.

Details like phone hours and referral processes can and do change. Where we couldn't confirm something with full confidence, we've said so rather than guessing, and we link straight through to the official site so you can double-check anything that matters before you rely on it. Listings were last checked in September 2026.

A note on the quiz

The "Find your support" quiz processes answers in the current page using JavaScript. The quiz code does not save answers, send them to a server or include them in links. This does not describe logging by the website's hosting provider or by external services you visit.

Browsing safely

If you'd rather nobody else knows you've visited, a few things help:

  • Leave quickly. The red "Quick exit" link opens BBC Weather. With JavaScript enabled, it replaces the current page in your browsing history. Earlier visits remain. Esc closes an open menu or accessibility panel first; otherwise, pressing it twice quickly activates Quick exit.
  • Consider a private window. Private browsing limits locally saved browsing history, but is not a guarantee of privacy. Downloaded files and bookmarks may remain, and your internet provider, school or workplace may still be able to see your activity.
  • Or clear your history afterwards. Earlier pages from this site can still appear in your browser's history — no website can remove those by itself — so delete them from your browser's history settings if you need to.

The site's scripts save accessibility preferences (text size, contrast and motion) in this browser's local storage, separately from quiz answers. Quick exit does not clear these preferences or your browsing history.
